Sizing Guide

Find Your Size
With Confidence

Every Istanbul Styles piece has its own measurements. This guide shows you how to measure yourself once, then order anything from our collection knowing it will fit.

Please read this first

Our pieces come from different ateliers, so a size Medium in one design can measure differently from a Medium in another. Always check the size chart on the specific product page rather than assuming your usual letter size.

Step One

Take Your Measurements

You'll need a soft measuring tape. Measure over light clothing, keeping the tape snug but not tight, and stand relaxed with your arms down.

01

Bust

Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level all the way around and passing under your arms.

Most important for abayas and dresses
02

Waist

Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel. Don't pull the tape tight or hold your breath.

Matters for belted and fitted styles
03

Hip

Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, roughly 20 cm (8 inches) below your waistline.

Matters for straight-cut abayas and sets
04

Height

Stand against a wall without shoes and measure from the floor to the top of your head. This tells you whether a piece will fall where you want it to.

Decides how the hem sits on you

Write these numbers down somewhere you can find them. Once you have them, ordering from us takes seconds.

Step Two

Read the Product's Size Chart

On every product page you'll find Find Your Perfect Fit near the size selector. Open it, then tap View full size chart.

Size Bust Hip Length
M 40.9"104 cm 47.2"120 cm 50.4"128 cm
L 41.7"106 cm 48.8"124 cm 50.4"128 cm
XL 44.1"112 cm 51.2"130 cm 50.4"128 cm

Example only — each product has its own chart.

The one thing people get wrong

The numbers in our charts are the measurements of the garment, not of your body. A chart showing Bust 104 cm means the garment measures 104 cm around — it does not mean it fits a 104 cm bust.

You need room to move. As a rule of thumb, look for a garment bust roughly 8–12 cm (3–5 inches) larger than your own bust measurement for a comfortable abaya fit.

Step Three

Or Let Us Do the Maths

Rather not calculate? Every product page has our size advisor built in. Enter your height, weight, and bust — and tell us whether you like a closer or looser fit. It compares your numbers against that exact product's measurements and recommends a size.

Good to Know

How Our Styles Fit

Abayas

Cut loose and flowing. Bust is the measurement that matters — the body of the garment is generous enough that hip size rarely restricts. Check the length against your height.

Belted Dresses

Fitted through the bust with the waist adjusted by the belt. Go by your bust and hip measurements; the waist takes care of itself.

Tiered & Flowing Dresses

The skirt is deliberately wide, so hip measurements in the chart look very large. Choose your size by bust alone.

Tracksuits & Sets

Designed with a relaxed, oversized cut. Two-piece sets list top length and trouser length separately — check both against your height.

Between Two Sizes?

Take the larger one. Modest wear is designed to drape, and a piece that's slightly roomy still looks intentional — one that's slightly tight doesn't. This is especially true for abayas and outer layers worn over other clothing.

Still Not Sure?

Send us your measurements and the piece you're looking at. We'll tell you honestly which size to order — or if it isn't the right style for your shape. We'd far rather help before you order than after.
